The Universe

"The Universe" refers to the most probable of all those universes which contain "you" and "me". Of course, this definition is extremely vague, but it is the best reference frame available for our common experiences.

In the late Baktun 12, human scientists more or less agree that the Universe has:

• a beginning (about 13700 million years ago)
• three major spatial dimensions + some geometric curvature
• a limited amount of elementary waves/particles (some of which cannot exist alone)
• a material speed limit (about 299792 kilometers per second)
• parallel universes (which emanate from an apparent quantum-level indeterminism)

The theory of Digital Physics suggests that the Universe can be reduced to a discrete machine, such as a cellular automaton.

The Universe seems to be infinitely complex. However, this complexity is apparently based on a simplicity whose theoretical formulations are called "laws of physics". The complexity of the Universe is no more than the sum of the complexity of these laws and the complexity of the initial state of the Universe.
