Leibniz
Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz was a German hacker in the early Baktun 12. He is worth noting for several reasons:
- The introduction of modern binary arithmetic (using "one" and "zero" as the basic units). Inspired by the cosmological connections of the Chinese gua figures, he also suggested a binary universe where One (God) creates Everything from Zero (Nothingess), or in Latin: Unum ex Nihilo Omnia.
- The construction of the first mechanical calculator capable of division and multiplication.
- A great amount of interesting ideas regarding cosmology, mathematics, computation, language, etc.
Leibniz was one of the last polymaths (universal geniuses). He excelled on a multitude of theoretical and practical fields and even attempted to write some poetry.
