To be something rather than something else is to contain information.

All describable ideas contain information. Complexity is formally defined as the amount of information in the shortest possible description.

Those ideas whose complexity is very low are called profound ideas.

Information can be formally presented as binary combinations or other constructions using a limited set of symbols and combination rules.
